The "Budgie Men" down at our local Village Hall always amuse me - great big beardy blokes making chirpy noises to little budgies. It's lovely really. They are so gentle with them.

I got me one of them and it's true they are all big burly beardy types,
my OH is ex-rugby and his other budgie mates are all very beery macho men but when it comes to their birds they go ga-ga!
Silver wedding gift, well let me see, a shared pressie is always nice and if he's into history how about a w/e break in a castle? or a medieval banquet? I think they do those in some English Heritage places. Silver goblets as a memento perhaps?
