Re: Ironing - love it OR hate it what do you iron?

speaking of ironing... i remember a couple of years ago when we bought my husband a new iron... (one of those steam maker thingies that has a special base that goes with it AND the special ironing board that goes with it that has a special slide out platform that accommodates the said iron...
he says that it makes the ironing A LOT easier and quicker!

oh... and as for what gets ironed...
my my shirts and his..pants... (not jeans and they get folded right from the dryer) handkerchiefs and pillow cases...
and everything gets dried on the clothes line (or clothes horse inside during winter) except for towels, sheets and jeans

Completely agree Kazz. With this winter going on and on and on, I'd be surrounded by damp washing if it weren't for the tumbler. But in the Summer ............. although towels tend to be much rougher!

Having a very small back garden if I had my rotary dryer up there would be no space for any of us! OK when it was just 2 adults sipping wine on the bench, but with 2 small and energetic boys that washing would be on the ground in no time!

So my dryer gets deployed all year round

Re: Ironing - love it OR hate it what do you iron?

i iron when im in the ironing mood. other than that it goes in the cupboard.
HOWEVER im admitting to being a *washer-holic* i just love to hear a washer on the go. and to see a line of washing blowing on the line. its lovely.
i iron jeans-t-shirts. shirts. the occasional heavy top. but underwear forget it. my ex husband said when we first got married, my mother irons my socks and pants. i gave him his underwear and told him to take them to her to be done.lol
