Here are some more, recent pics: My Jerusalem Artichokes sticking their heads above ground: A flowering apple tree (extra-dwarf stock), our bean beds and OH digging my fennel, chicory and sorrel beds Recycling! I was going to take this ratty old toy to the tip, but decided that it would be great for growing flowers in and through . . . Oh, and I think we've settled on gravel for the pathways. Found a tonne bag online for just over a £100 including delivery!! |

Looking good. The raised beds are a must for me now. Santa is going to bring me lots and lots this year! I've sown my fennel early this year. There's a gardening old saw which says if you hold off sowing till after the longest day, they won't bolt. I've usually done that but in recent years the weather has been so bad in June it's meant that I've hardly had a crop at all. So I've put some in now and will sow some more towards the end of June Have you been able to take anything home to eat yet Yola? That's the best! |

What an awful lot of work you've all put in Yola... it looks wonderful..... well done..the extent of my vege garden is in pots... and even they have died due to the drought... .. because i live by the beach the soil is just too sandy to grow much in.. and with our water strictions.. i have tried keeping things alive by putting buckets in the shower with us.. and using the water from that on the plants... but so many of them dont tolerate the soap .. i have a few herbs that have survived... but thats about it |
