Re: Emma's proposed new garden

Maybe decking at the back, then maybe planting sweeping up the left side from the patio/slabs by the house down curving round theslabs by the garage. nice and wide as wide was the garage and slabs maybe the turning into a soft curve and the pond nestling in that soft curve, then almsot hugging the pond with planting with borders the pond and decking. then a nice stand alone flower bed in the shape of maybe a ? leaving a way into the decking then where the tail of the ? trells dividing the compost maybe, and the shed behind? then a half moon planted border on the right with grass paths leading off?

Does that make sense???

Karen.

Re: Emma's proposed new garden

Here you are but I told you I was bad

The birches show in two spaces as I could not think where would be better? also the grass remains in place leading you to the back decking area slightly raised. The summerhouse is glass three sides. The left hand side is planting. The right half circle planting. Then the bed in the centre back ? bed is maybe summer/cottage garden/wildflowers with a bveg plot behind maybe? A large expanse of lawn left.

Not sure maybe a rough rough rough draft or maybe nothing like what you were thnking of...Karen

Re: Emma's proposed new garden

now that I like, apart from the decking at the end (not a great fan of decking )

We would do a new patio at the top of the garden and perhaps have a sweeping half circle...hold on I will do a drawing

The garage will be knocked down and a new one put up, larger and a bit further down the garden..

Also I have to be careful where "lucy" is burried I have adjusted your drawing a bit Kazz, I hope you don't mind

I have adjusted the patio so it sweeps out a bit, and also joined the border so it meets the patio

Re: Emma's proposed new garden

No probs she's wondered off in a strop.

I have to be up and in work for 6 so do have to go ina minute.

I considered bringing the patio out as you already have table and chairs there bottom right corner. And figured it was handy place to sit. and then thought of bringint he half circle planting down to meet it. Maybe I should have gone with my first thought.
How about a little retaining double brick wall between the extended patio and the garden? you could plant that up with alpines maybe they alway look lovely slightly raised. And you could with good planting keep it interesting thoughout the year.

At the top you could turn the ? the other way round so the curved inward bit faces the field and then wraps around your circle of seating at the top???? the wild flowers would only be in flower in the summer so would just be a nice planting all though the year with a total show in the Summer.

Re: Emma's proposed new garden

Karen, instead of a summer house I saw one of these today at the ideal home show and my mum reckons my dad could make me one at a fraction of the cost (about £7,000 !!!)

What do you think??
