but at least you've had some distraction today and over there the day is nearly over now and you can have a nice sleep and hopefully have your boy back in the morning or soon at least! |

Hi everyone - just to update - I phoned the vet this morning, Pip is doing well and I have an appointment to talk through findings and pick him up this afternoon at 3.50. Thanks so much for all your support, you've been splendid! |

You must be so relieved he's coming home today Hope the discussion with the vet goes well and you get to find out exactly what happened and why. |

Good News: Pipski-Popski Pip is HOME. He seems well. Diagnosis is suspected urethritis. He has come home with anti-inflammatory (Metacam); anti-spasmodic (Dibenyline) and anti-biotic (Nisamox). He has a follow up appointment in a week's time. The vet hopes (as do I) that it's a one-off. There seem to be no other indicators/symptoms. The vet I saw today was the one who catheterised him on Saturday and said that he initially had a bit of trouble getting the penis to elongate, but after that it was fine. He thinks this very likely to be the cause. I have to keep a close watch on him. (Pip, not the vet!!!!! - just re-read that bit!) My lovely boy is still lovely and affectionate. He's been drinking from the tap too - how I have missed him. He's already been nose to nose with Monty and no growling by either party. (OK, the child gate thing was between them!) |
