How do you do the quoting bit ?, quite thick when it comes to this magic box, tried ticking the box etc but can't be doing it in the right order ?

Just press the quote button underneath the post & it will quote it for you.

Just click on 'quote' on the bottom of the post you want to quote from and the quote will open up in a reply box, then type your text underneath it. HTH x

Yep the equivelent of Parvo in cats is Feline panleucopaenia (feline infectious enteritis) it was thought that Parvo virus is a mutated FIE virus, which was why when canine parvo virus hit the doggy world 20 yrs or so ago they were vaccinating with feline enterits vaccine.

Hmmmm that's interesting, wonder if they have tested Porsha for that. Is it transferable between cats and dogs as I will worry about my dogs now if it is Parvo

No it's species specific. (is that the right terminology? sounds a mouthful) anyway it's a different type of virus in dogs & cats

changing the subject.... did you know cats can also get bordetella bronchiseptica (if I've spelt that right it will be a miracle) ie kennel cough? weird I know.

Yes I did know this, wasn't it DM that had an experience of this quite recently?

Yes Min had kennel cough last summer, post-kennel. Dinah returned from the kennel with it so I guess Min got it from her. Strangely it is easily treated in cats and she was fine after the first day of a five day antibiotic course. Odd, when dogs are usually left to hack their way through it.
I think it's fairly rare/not well known. I phoned ahead to the vet to ask if I should wait in the car etc, the receptionist asked the vet nurse who said - no, kennel cough in cats, never heard of it!
