Yes Yola, chat with your B/C. (It's Ian Farrah that is coordinating it a NCC) It's been a great success & it also helps raise awareness generally about CP. People were coming to tell us about their cat stories. We couldn't put a collecting tin out as we didn't have a permit to collect, but peope were giving us money all over the place & we came back with £108.

Babycakes,You can make a donation if you wish, via the main CP site or via our local branch website (Stourbridge & District branch) or sending a cheque via me if that's easier.

Could you PM an address I am going away and will do it when I get back but wouldn't like to forget

Re: Cats protection free neutering campaign

Looks like we will be having the CP head office neutering van too! We are doing to be doing a joint event in a notoriously hard-nosed area of Reading focusing on neutering, with the RSPCA.

It will be a kind of roadshow format, and we will be leaflet dropping and handing out vouchers on the day as well as answering general and specific questions . . . so the van will be well used here too which I'm delighted about

Re: Cats protection free neutering campaign

I know Kelly, but it's their shout and to be honest if it means we spread the word and more unwanted kittens are prevented then it has to be a good thing.

Our co-ordinator is all for building relationships that benefit the branch (unlike our previous one who really didn't want to work in partnership with anyone ). And I'm cool with that!

Grete, to ansewr your question - the RSPCA don't have the best reputation in the world as far as no-kill goes. Basically if they can't rehome they have been known to euthanise perfectly healthy animals - Cats Protection will NEVER do that and make a point of saying so whenever they can!

Noooo I always thought they were no kill

Many years ago when I split up with my ex-boyfriend, I ended up moving from Brighton to Nottingham and spent a good while sleeping on a friends couch. At the time I had 4 cats and obviously couldn't take them with me. I ran out of time just before I was about to settle down with my new boyfriend (that became my husband), and he gave 2 of them away to a good friend and the other 2 went to the RSPCA. One of those (a female called Cami) was a bit of a special needs cat as when she was very young she developed an infection and it addled her brains a little.

I still miss them Camikaze (Cami) and Harlequin (Quinnie) and always believed they would find a good forever home. Now I'm not so sure
