Re: Lucky....

Fran - I'm sorry Lucky isn't picking up. How is she today?

Kazz - You say the nicest words at these difficult times.

Re: Lucky....

Fran - I'm sorry to hear this, both for you and Lucky.
Lucky doesn't know what is happening, other than the pain and discomfort. I agree with Karen, put Lucky first, even if it will hurt you. So sorry.
Take care x

Re: Lucky....

Morning all, well Lucky is very much brighter in herself today. STill eating very very little and I think the stress of syringe feeding her is not an option at the grand age of 18. I want her to go with dignity and a dignified old lady she is. At present she is sitting on my lap, something she has never done in 18 years until the last couple of months. She always sits beside as close as possible but never on your lap up until recently. Maud is beside her and Maud is her best feline companion. She is alert and enjoying watching Claude and Clooney playing with the Kitty go Krazy.
Kazz's words are ringing in my ears "better a day too early than a day too late" and it is for that reason that I have not taken her for a second opinion this morning. I have made arrangements for her to cross the Rainbow Bridge, here at home in my arms tomorrow morning

Thank you all for your support and good wishes...you are a great bunch

Fran x

Re: Lucky....

We're with you Fran.
It's so nice (totally wrong word, but I'm lost for words just now) that she can pass from her own home - no stressy cat carrier/car journey/waiting room time. You won't have to exit red-eyed from the surgery.
So sorry. Be sad now but soon you will be able to look back with happiness at all your years of good memories.

Re: Lucky....

And the looking back with a smile is done sooner than you think, because there is so much to look back on. Its hard to remember anything but smiley things, Take care of yourself Fran I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

I feel for you I really do; but nothing anyone says will take away what you feel now.

Karen

Re: Lucky....

Fran i'm so very sorry, but as the others have said it is a road we all must cross, it isn't a nice road by any means but one we all must take.
It is the greatest favour you are doing for Lucky, although it might not seem like it
Stay strong, think about the good times and you know where i am if you wish to talk
best wishes

Re: Lucky....

ohh Fran...sad news, but well done for being strong, its not easy but we have all been there. As others have said its part of the bargain we make to have the honour of their company. All I can say is that you have many memories of her...and they will always be with you even when she isn't. Its the best way possible...for her to fall asleep in your arms. Thinking of you and Lucky
