Re: Farepak

I know what you mean Sandy, luckily I didn't have children I think if I did I would have had to go back to my parents, there is no way I could have afforded children with the rent we are paying. Sometimes now a days I feel ashamed how easily it is to forget how hard it was/can be for some people, we were lucky even then although money was tight we were better off than some.

Yes, they were my opinion of the things you said in your posts, and I was personally offended. You don't live in the UK, do you? - things are different here. That is fact, and I can't see how that is personal. Calling anyone 'stupid' is definitely not my style either.

When I first started a post about farepak, I was really upset and got support and understanding from Catsey members. Hopefully that is still what this forum is all about.

Re: Farepak

Kim you certainly have got my support.

I wish somebody like GMTV would start a campain to help some of the Farepak members. I am sure with the nations support we really could make a difference.

Sod waiting for the Government to step in and help

Ok, missy, I see what you're after. I'll go, and you can get back to manipulating the membership into compliance, by foor-stamping, tears, appeals to 'this forum as it was", to "we in the uk", etc. I'm into free speech and all that jazz, so have nothing further to pursue here.

Re: Farepak

Well there's no need for me to read the whole thread as I can see where this has all stemmed from:

Whilst it may be a bit over-dramatic to call it a national emergency, it is in fact a very big deal to people who used the company to help save for Christmas, hence why your post, or more to the point, the way you worded it has upset people.

Please try to put yourself in other peoples shoes and consider their feelings when posting.

In addition, much of what you have said is actually saying it's good to budget, and then on the other hand you are berating people for doing so!

People using saving companies like these actually do so so they can carefully budget for Christmas. And afford those things they want to buy. Are you confusing this type of scheme to credit card debt? Because from what I know this isn't along those lines. Here, people save up during the year and then spend the money they have saved up. As opposed to spending money they don't actually have.

This is an odd statement to make, because this is exactly what people are doing by taking out such a savings scheme

Just because they choose to use a company who may also offer additional benefits (such as discounts) doesn't mean they are unable to budget, in fact people could say it's actually clever-thinking to plan this far ahead and get the benefits that such schemes offer.

Maybe you shouldn't go to school then and educate children - because any kid can end up a lout or a druggy. What kind of mentality is that

Sorry Sandy maybe it is the language barrier, but I'm not sure if you know how you came across in that post alone (I dread to read the rest of the thread!). If English is not your first language or strong point, please try to read over your posts before submitting them, or get a friend who can to do so, to avoid such misunderstandings in future. Thanks.
