Yep, same here! It used to be fine, would take the pics instantly, now there's a 5 or 6 second delay.....just long enough to lose the shot! Tried new batteries and different brands of batteries, but no change. I only manage to get the girls' pics when they're sleeping.....so just waiting for one of them to fall asleep in a pile of decorations LOL! Miw keeps sleeping under the tree, but it's too close to the floor for me to actually get a pic of her under it.

What camera do you have? Mine's a Nikon Coolpix L2. I've looked at the menu, but can't see anything about this; but I'm not very techy.

To stop delay problems on your camera, try sports mode, most camera have it, its the icon of a person running.

Also try taking pictures with as much natural light as possible.
If you can change the ISO up it to a faster ISO speed so 400 ISO up to 800 If possible.

Worth a try

Thanks for the tip, Matt. Will look for the sports mode thingy. Leia's an indoor cat, so except when she's on the screened porch natural light isn't really an option for me...think the ISO bit is way over my head ........

The other thing I sometimes use is sequence shooting if your camera has it. Allows you to take 3 or 4 pics one after the other. Sometimes you get one that is ok.

Might put up the tree tonight so will try and get my entry in.

Re: New Comp, Festive Kitties

Ok, here's the pic I've finally settled on for the competition......unfortunately going to have no internet access for a week as of Tuesday, so not going to be able to wait for a better pic!

I liked this one particularly....turned out well with the flash turned off!

Have posted all of the rejected Christmas pics in another thread......check them out!

Merry Christmas all!

Mousie
