Cromwell was IMO a perfect example of the power of power to corrupt absolutely. Who but a tyrant of the first order would ban Christmas??? I know it has it's drawbacks (such as commercialism) but it gives people a bit of enjoyment and I bet in 1600s it was really really needed. Sermon over. |
