I give up ............... was thinking about The Ancient Mariner, but of course that wasn't a saint.

Guess the Q could be called highbrow, but I doubt if many sailors would agree ..... if they believe in their patron saint of course!

I would be as consistent as you can Angie and always have a toy or something to redirect his attention get him to sit first then give him the toy. Do not immediately throw the toy when he bites or he will associate that with nipping. Whereas if "ignore the "nip" get him to sit (do something for you) then throw his toy and have a game of fetch it will work. You need patience, pups do get it and lots if not all pups go for ankles/shoes. Sal did she just grew out of it.

Easier said than don e sometimes but try not to react, he'll just turn it into a game. Try carrying a squeeky ball or something and use it as a distraction just before he goes into the feet nipping mode.
I still carry a sqeeky ball to help distract Rayne from doing things I dont want her to do.
