Re: Simon's Poorly (updated @ post 24)

He is at the vets. Cant remember the name but. its the thing that turns him yellow thats double the normal dose at 170 and another atp should be not over 75 and his is 975. They arnt giving up on him and putting a drip back up and given him a scan tomorrow. From getting in the taxi and being taken in by the vets he never stopped meowing. Its not poisoning and the other cats can not catch it will no more in morning

Re: Simon's Poorly (updated @ post 24)

It's called hepatic lipidosis and generally happens to old and/or overweight cats. As the liver fails they become jaundiced. The liver is a rejenerative organ if treated early enough but as I said it is a long slow process and usually involves syringe feeding as well as fluid therapy.

Re: Simon's Poorly (updated @ post 24)

Turning this condition around is not for the faint hearted. My poor Woody was pts with this condition. He wasnt an easy cat to medicate and was very easily stressed, so for him and for us, it was kinder that we had him pts.
I hope it can be turned around for Simon but like i keep saying it is a long and slow process.
