Does not sound like a very good way to start your life does it poor little thing. Despite all the disagreements surely one thing we can all agree on is she is having a much better life now where she is than she has had in her short few weeks. How anyone can begin to treat animals like that beggars belief and we can only hope they are in the minority and something can be done about the way they conduct themselves. Sarah x |

poor kitten lets hopevher brothers and sister dont have to stay there until 13 weeks even with the gccf reg it would be best if the kittens were out of there but saying that if she sells them all she will only breed again |

Jac do you know what happened to the other kittens? Where they also sold at 7 weeks? Also how do you know the breeder? If she is a friend may be difficult for you to put in a complaint! Can I be really cheeky and ask how much she was asking for the kittens? |

Ok I can answer all your questions now and give you the story. I did say a friend but I should have said acquaintance (but hey I cant spell) Darryle used to work with her BIL for a while. I shouldn't have gone to see the kittens but hey my heart ruled my head in this case. What can I say? It turns out that she has had a "few" litters. Yes she has a heap of personal problems and they are huge but that does not change how she has done things. I have been talking to a GOOD breeder for a couple of years now and she ( from the pedigree I got) realised who sold her the queen. She in turn contacted her and told her what was going on. I have put a complaint into the GCCF and the SSPCA. I was at the Musselborough show on Sat along with the breeder I have been talking to. I took the pedigree ( and Ola, although she stayed in the car) The breeder who sold her the breeding queen was mortified. She is going to be paying a visit to the girl. As far as I know there are no kittens left. When I was there the queen was back with the male  another thing to be addressed.These people have to be stopped no matter there circumstances. But how could I leave Ola there? Yes I did encourage her by paying the going rate but she wont get away with it again.  I have an 8 week old baby un vaccinated un insured but happy, healthy and being socialised. She is a pet. Loved to bits and awaiting a play mate Who has been booked for a month now. So no I had no intention what so ever of getting her BUT I wouldn't change her for the world |

I personally don't think you needed to justify yourself but you have and I commend you for that as should everyone else. I think you did what you felt was right by Ola and I think anyone with a heart would have done the same thing, me included. You've also done the best you can in hopefully putting a stop to the way this lady breeds and conducts her breeding and that is all you can do. Its down to the powers that be to take things further. If they don't then sadly she will be able to continue to carry on the way she has been, but at least you have the peace of mind you tried to prevent this from happening. Thanks to you and your intervention Ola will now grow up to be a happy and well socialised kitten and know what it is like to have a normal life, albeit without her mum and litter siblings. Yes she was too young to leave her family but it needed to happen regardless of the rules etc and hopefully the rest of the kittens will be taken and looked after properly too. I do hope you manage to get things sorted regarding her breeder and that Ola continues to go from strength to strength. I may too get shot down in flames for my comments but as we've all said on this forum many times before we are entitled to our own opinions and this is mine. In no way shape or form am I condoning kittens leaving at such an early age or being sold unregistered, unvaccinated or uninsured. Nor is it something I would ever do personally. But I do think however in this particular case it was the right thing to do for Jac to take Ola and to take her away from any unnecessary suffering. I Hope Ola doesn't have much longer to wait for her new playmate to arrive and then she can get down to some serious kitten fun  .Sarah x |
