Cat's must be like elephants so they don't forget. He started purring as soon as I spoke to him and put my fingers through the bars of the cat carrier. He and Bentley both wailed on the few miles back home, but he jumped put of the carrier and straight into the kitchen looking for food as soon as I opened it.
He is painfully, pitifully thin
. I brought one carrier in each hand, just from the car to the house. It was almost as if his was empty compared with Bentley's. His coat still has its vibrant colour but is somehow not quite as zingy. He had a tick between his shoulder blades that was huge. There are a couple of lumps at the base of one ear - maybe bites, maybe tick sites where the tick has gorged and fallen off? I wondered if his ears would be torn and scratched but no, they're OK. His claws are almost worn away on his front feet.
However he is in good spirits, bright, chatty and very cuddly. I must head off and put a post asking the best way to build him up again and post a couple of pics.
