I feel very much the same as you DM. I come here most days and skim posts and rarely reply. I don't really feel part of the forum any more, but that is because I don't put much in, so my fault. However, threads like this, at least the latter part, really put me off. I tend to go on sighthound forums more now as that is where my heart lies and as I contribute more I feel part of the 'family' there. I shall still carry on with Catsey, but don't feel compelled to get more involved that at present.

The core of 'oldies' (sorry ladies) has and always will be wonderful and there is a constant coming and going of 'temporary but welcome and valued' members, who come while their puss is new and wonderful. or sick or whatever and move naturally on after a time. BUT there is too much trolling and childish nonsense and .... (for my taste anyway)
I'm enjoying the other place and find its pace and its clientele suit me. It's very young but there are already a lot of regular contributors and some fascinating topics. So, as I said pre-holiday, I think that will be my general bolt-hole for the present. I quite understand the 'hours in the day' argument and am pleased that any decisons I make are more on taste than time. I don't envy those who have to ration their time, as I think you get more from a forum the more you put in. If you only skim you don't get full value.
So, be good. I'm not gone for good - just resting!

Good! I have to admit to be struggling with Over50s . . . not an age thing because I'm mosty older than my years but familiarity I suppose - just don't feel quite at home there. I do bemoan the occaisonal nonsense that intervenes here, but hopefully those that truly 'belong' will return periodically.

Same for you Kim - valued member with much to contribute. Maybe we all need to make that little bit more effort (she says hopefully . . . )

Thank-you Yola. I don't think I could ever totally leave Catsey as I have had some good times here and members such as yourself, Kazz, Elaine, Moli, Mags, Smudgley, Alex, DM, Eileen, etc are what is good about Catsey and as you say Yola, familiarity.

WOW I have missed such alot in my absence, mind you glad I missed it all as I don`t really like conflicts like that I find them abit scary.
