What nonsence!!!It's just been on the news that an 80 year old may be deported from Scotland. She has lived here since she was a toddler and came over from the US on her Grandmothers passport. She never left the country until a trip of a lifetime to Austraila to see her son. On her arrival at Heathrow Airport officials noticed she didn't have a home office samp on her passport. She was given 4 weeks to get her paperwork in order or would be deported back to the US. I'm sorry but with all the criminals running about you would think the home office would be better off trying to catch them! Its cost her £800 to fast track her passport. I dont know about you but I think this is shocking.

Oh that's just disgraceful!! I'm very much hoping some idiot somewhere is hanging their head in shame at this and it will be sorted out for the poor soul soon. |

I've just been reading about that Jac.. That poor woman must be out of her mind with worry  She has got 5 days left to sort it out or she will be deported. It doesn't count that she has paid all her taxes and done everything right since she has been here! That is just disgusting. To pick on the poor woman when she isn't harming anyone especially when you think of all the criminals who manage to get into the UK and all the thing the people in charge could be doing instead of wasting their time picking on the elderly lady. I almost feel ashamed to live here with people doing stuff like that. I hope it is sorted out very soon and that she gets to stay in the UK Sally |

I think it's a total disgrace. She said on the news that she has a cubby hole to hide in if they come for her. She must be at her wits end. I think if they did have have nearve to "come" for her there would be an up roar. Or I'd like to think so. |

That boggles the mind!!! 80...lived there almost all her life, paid her taxes, a responsible citizen and they're going to deport her to a country she doesn't remember where she has no friends, no support network and probably no means of support..???!!!!! I hope somewhere in the bureaucracy there's a person of authority with some common sense and compassion who can sort this out for the poor woman! Can you write or e-mail your MP and see if something can be done? It's disgraceful..  |
