bitesi didn't know where to put this post so I've put it here....... I'm just after a little advice,,, I've started to get bites on my legs and i think its fleas....i always de flea the cats every 4 weeks..and now I'm worried that my house may be infested....my husband was asleep in bed this morning and he had one on his neck...i don't let the cats in any bedrooms. I'm worried now. has anyone got any advice on killing them! i have already put down some powder and used a fogger! i really hate them

Sounds like fleas to me, per shop stuff wont work . Go to your vets and get a spray, kills the little blighters for 12months!! |

I agree with Alex, go to your vet and get a flea spray for the home .........much better than the shop products.. |

Sounds like fleas to me also! If you're uneasy about using a fogger, as I was when I had a bad flea infestation many years ago I got one of these electric flea traps...worked like a miracle! Could not believe the incredible number that it caught. Here's a link to show you what they look, like: this is a US site, but sure they're available in the UK also. Nasty nasty beasties  I've not had a flea problem for a long time and never tried one of those clever contraptions. Hope you get on top of the situation soon! |

I've never seen those electronic things either - looks like a good idea and good to hear DMs good review. It may be useful, for the next little while till you've sorted the infestation, to try to keep the little varmints off you and your OH. Get some lavender oil and sprinkle half a dozen drops on some hankies or similar. Leave to dry, then put the hankies in your bed and maybe in your underwear drawer - should keep them at bay. |

I had a problem with fleas when I moved into the flat I rent. I used indoerex which I got from the vets and it worked a treat. BUut I would check berfore you buy that you can use it with the pet in the room as I don't think you can. Best of luck getting rid of them and I hope you aren't eaten to bad in the mean time. Sally |
