Do you not have more than one rescue? Is it Cats Protection you've approached? It's rare that they turn cats away; certainly our lot will always find a corner for a cat that's under threat. If not CP couldn't the RSPCA help or maybe an independent rescue centre? I'm at the other end of the country so can't help much as I'd love to - so sorry |

Agree with Yola - whilst we sometimes have to priorotise as we just can not cope with the demand of cats needing rehoming, we would always take in an old lady that was stuck at the vets. As for the RSPCA - Personally I wouldn't waste a phone call. - Sorry guys - |

Thanks to a request on another cat forum, 2 homes have come up for this cat, and I just have to decide which is better!! One is further away but can have her this weekend, the one that is less travel is a two week wait. As for our local CP, they have a restriction on how many cats they can have at any time (long story), and have a shortage of fosterers (another gripe of mine), so highly unlikely they would have said yes - they refused a 12 year old that they originally rehomed last year on the grounds that they couldn't possibly home a cat that old - I rehomed her in 8 weeks. When I said rescue, I meant the one I foster for, the lady did mention at least one of the other local rescues to the vets, so we did assume she had contacted some. And our RSPCA shelter is still being built - no idea why as the last one closed down years ago, they must think they will have a better job this time round - and no, I wouldn't contact them about a cat this age. |
