Ginny Geste

Meet Ginevra. We're hoping she'll settle in with us, giving Toffee someone to curl up with without getting soaked (Albus thinks Toffee tastes good) and Ginny a home where she isn't ganged up on.

There will be better photos in later post, this is the first on her arrival.

She's the same colour-family as Toffee but the full-strength version to his dilute. She's almost four, has had two litters of kittens (one lassie of which is a show-world comet) but is now neutered and ready to be a family pet. I've met her at shows and at her breeder's, always had a soft spot for her, so jumped at the chance to give her a new forever home when she needed one. She is very sweet and good with people, a bit unsure of other cats (but not to the point of hiding under the sofa for three hours like a certain Toffeecat I know...) and an unknown factor with dogs (but she can choose to avoid Albus if she wants to).
At the start she had her own room and we were slowly spreading her scent into the rest of the house.

Re: Ginny Geste

We investigated the sitting room first. I shouted the whole time just to keep anything scary away.

And then there were *Birds* right there outside and milling about the bit outside the door.

It was a lot of fun until the smell of Dog got to me and I hid under the sofa.

It is an excellent sofa with a bit of up you can use to pounce on anyone that follows you, a tunnely bit with two exits so you can always escape, and if you're really scared you can squeeze in under the seats and be very low and very squoze.

Re: Ginny Geste

Settling in nicely. We approve of the bed, especially with the undercat heating on (missing in photo):

The view over my new demesne is worth watching. Not quite sure about the pale cat in my flowerbed, though.

He looks much too comfortable. At first I thought that he might be the gardener.

Re: Ginny Geste

But no, garden cat appears to live with us. I hiss at him to make sure he knows his place. On top of the telly, apparently but that leaves all this lovely view of birds in the garden all for me.

Re: Ginny Geste

She's an Abyssinian, a sorrel.

The sculpture is one of the first my Better Half made when he took up chainsaw carving. It a cat, an artist impression of Toffee (that's the pale garden cat ^^).

Re: Ginny Geste

There are too many cat breeds for it to be easy to be up on them all.

Thnak you, I'll pass the compliment on to BH. He's quite brilliant with a chainsaw.
