Littlebutt died

One of our iguanas, Littlebutt, died today.
He was one of our reptile rescues. A kid had been keeping him in a coffee can and the mother was livid that it bit him and she was threatening to set him loose in the pet store because they would not offer her a refund. My OH was standing there overhearing this and offered her what he had in his wallet at the time so she would stop her threats and he could bring him home.
We had him for awhile, made a big setup for him, and fed him only the best of food. Unfortunately, metabolic bone disease had already done enough damage to his body and he passed despite our efforts.
Rest in peace, little one. You will be missed.

Re: Littlebutt died

Sorry to hear that , at least he had a good life while he was with you.
Iguanas are one of my favourite animals. I love to photograph them.

Re: Littlebutt died

Poor little thing
These creatures need to be cared for properly, not kept in a coffee tin

Re: Littlebutt died

I felt so sad reading that he had been kept in a coffee can!!
I had an Iguana as a child and know they cannot live like that.
Thankfully he lived out his last days happy in a proper environment.
RIP Littlebutt.
