I reckon the yellow/black ones will turn into speckled grey hens/cocks. Have you thought what you will do with boy chicks? Oh no! Not the pot!

They are Black Orpingtons. As for the boys, well we'll have to wait & see, they will end up in the pot but not at our house, they will be sold at auction.

in these pics, the yellows are light sussex and the blacks with yellow are Black Orpingtons

smudgley - you are torturing me!!!

These are lovely. I seen some orpington at a show last weekend. Lovely big birds.

I am getting a light sussex, thought they looked nice size of bird and are meant to be quite friendly.

Really nice coop.

John has been great, he's made me a maternity wing for when they first hatch.... 2 nursery units for when they are little, the big nursery for when they are growing and then the coop for when they can go outside. The plan is we will have 2 of those little coops to use for growing on the birds.
