ooh I'd be terrified if he came and lay next to me.

He obviously thinks its his job to be with them as they go - its a shame some people remove him so they can say their goodbyes

Wonder if cats can tell if someone is sick.

When I wake up with a hangover, Jet is usually lying next to me, maybe because I have slept in and its past her morning feeding time !!

Andrew, I saw this on Channel 9 this morning and was going to post it...you beat me to it! Fascinating article; I'm inclined to think the biochemical bit is likely, rather than the psychic, but it's still amazing, isn't it?

How interesting! I definitely feel that animals are 'intune' with us and can sense things we couldn't imagine they would.

And here's a follow-up article about animals sixth sense
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6919063.stm
It must be so liberating for those people fortunate enough to have the seizure alert dogs.

My OH insists that sometimes he wakes up and one or other of the cats (or a previous cat, in the past) has been sitting beside the pillow looking intently at him Do you think they are doing a 'ward-round'? - just ensuring they'll get their breakfast in the morning!

My Siamese used to do what we called bed check: he slept with me but would go unfailingly every night to Dad,s room , jump on the bed. look at him. and then come back to me for the night!
