Oh how horrible glad little puss is ok again now though! I think you mean stargazer lillies, my mums favourite flower but I always make her cut the pollen bits out. I work as a trainee VN and The same happened at the vets I work at a few months back. We nearly lost the poor little thing. Your practice are lucky to have receptionists, us nurses have to do both jobs in our practice |

I'm glad the poor cat is alright now.. I knew lilies were poisonous but it is not until you here something like this that it brings it home to you that you must be very careful if you must have lilies in the house.... |

Gosh, how awful! I know Lillies are poisonous. Hubby bought me a bouquet for our wedding ann and as soon as the lillies opened I removed the pollen bits. I helped out in a florists for a while and she always took the pollen out of hers before putting them in bouquets after I told her the risks.. |

Not only is the pollen dangerous for cats, it can stain anything it touches a sickly yellow, you, your tablecloth etc! Always cut off the stamens on lilies! |

When my Baby Casper took ill last year I thought that it was the Lillies my neighbour had planted in her garden... it unfortunately turned out to be a heart problem from which he didnt survive... but my neighbour didnt believe me that lillies were poisonous to cats I had to get acopy of the article from my vet to prove it to her.....I am so glad the Kitty survived. |
