My friend's cat - possible poisoning....

My good friend, Karen, that I work with has had some terrible news about one of her cats, Lucy........

Her neighbour found Lucy in their garden on Wednesday night - curled up in their bird bath - they bundled her up in towels and put her by the radiator and waited for Karen to get home.

Karen rushed her straight to the emergency vets as she was frothing at the mouth, her eyes were rolling around and all the inside of her mouth and tongue was covered in ulcers

The emergency vets ran some tests and said that they thought she had eaten something poisonous and that her kidneys were shutting down. They put her on a drip to try and flush her system out.

Yesterday morning Lucy was moved to Karen's regular vets where they put her on another, stronger drip and ran some blood tests.

She has made it through the night, but doesn't appear to be any better really. She is still frothing/salivating a lot and is very weak. They are going to run some more blood tests this morning and see if they indicate any changes.

Could you all please send healing vibes to Karen and to Lucy at this difficult time. I really hope that Lucy can pull through.

xx

Lucy has been pts.

Karen is devestated, as am I.

The vets ran more blood tests this morning and said that the levels had nearly doubled, rather than lowering. They said that they had never seen anything like it.

RIP Lucy..........play hard at the Bridge sweetheart.
