New Hen


Here is Beryl. She is Black Orpington/Cream Legbar cross and lays Khaki green eggs.

Had her two weeks so she is now, just about, accepted. First two days I kept them apart but in sight of each other but put her in the coop at night. She did get a bit of a hard time for a couple of days but they are fine now unless she dares to try and go where one of the others wants to be.

Has been laying since Saturday - 3 eggs so far. Breeder reckons 4 or 5 a week will be her norm.

Poor Martha has started to moult so has stopped laying. Every time she shakes herself she is surrounded by a little halo of feathers - very sweet.
