rep points & green squares

I have often seen posts congratulating members on so many green squares and heard about rep points, not really knowing what these are. However I just happened to come across my own rep points and green squares and some lovely comments to me from other members!! Thank-you so much for the kind comments and I'm so sorry I haven't thanked you personally before or returned the favour! You must think I am so rude or stupid!! lol

I know I can be a bit 'gobby' on certain issues that I feel very strongly about, but please believe that I don't mean to cause offence to anyone personally. So thanks again.

I think it's quite nice that you have just 'stumbled' over them Kim. It's a nice system but it seems wrong to emphasise it as people join - as if that's the point of CP - which it isn't.
You're very welcome to any and all rep points I gave given you. Nothing wrong with expressing your opinions, as long as we all remember that this is basically a friendly place - there are lots of others for having battles!

You may have a nice suprise if you click on USER CP (under the CatPages banner, top left of the main screen), and scroll right down! Look at the table bottom right.

BT, click on the blue scales on the right of the post you want to give a rep pt to (it's next to the post number).....a box will open where you can write a comment, then just click the 'add to reputation' button beneath it....that's all there is to it!

Re: rep points & green squares

Here's an ancient thread on the same subject. Ignore any comments on 'negative rep points' - we've never done that and DogWeb abandoned it after a very short time.

Hope this helps the newbies (and maybe lets them see how they are valued!)

Re: rep points & green squares

Oh, and it's not impolite to not "return the favour". I'd rather get the occasional heartfelt and nice comment than a "Oh, here's yours". Having said that, I've yet to receive one of the latter, so I'm probably being unnecessarily obvious again...
