Holiday booked

Have booked and payed for a holiday in mid sept. Cannt wait now to get away from humdrum. Havent had a decent holiday since before Winston was diagnosed with crf. Eva and Bernie will be in the capable hands of Graham while me and my friend take off for a fortnight. My friend hasnt had the greatest of times lately. She lost her mother earlier this year.
So now we are both excited and spent the afternoon window shopping for holiday clothes, we had no money left to buy anything after paying the holiday.

Re: Holiday booked

Are you going anywhere hot Elaine?? I know what you mean about not having a holiday for a long time, we haven't had a proper holiday for nearly 8 years, we kept meaning to a couple of years back but lucy got ill and I wouldn't leave her and then we got Bronwyn the year before last and I didn't want to leave her. I am so glad we booked one this year though

Re: Holiday booked

Where are you off to Emma? Somewhere nice and hot and relaxing I hope.
I am off to Greece, no surprises there, I love Greece. We are going to the mainland. The first week will be pretty hectic as we are going to do an ancient treasures of Greece tour and for the second week we will just chill out on a beech near Halkidiki in the north of Greece. Better brush up on my comunication skills

Mainland Greece is somewhere I haven't been, I have been to Corfu, Kos, Crete, Rhodes, but never the mainland when are you off?

Hope you have a brilliant holiday.

Re: Holiday booked

It's not till the 18th of sept. I love the mainland, have been many times but havent seen all i want to see, which is why we are doing a tour on the first week. We will be taking in some pretty spectacular places, some i've been to before and some i have wanted to see. I have been to the gates of the acropolis 3 times but never been in. Too busy shopping in the markets
We will be taking in Meteora, the acropolis, possiedens palace, olympia, the corinth canal, the delphi and appollos oracle, then its chill out time
I have a friend on the mainland who i havent seen for a few years too, so would be nice if we can meet up again for a few beers and a chin wag

Re: Holiday booked

Elaine, we are off to Portugal in September just a week, in an area called Paderne which is set in the hillside, should be nice as we have booked a villa with our own pool.

Your holiday sounds nice, two weeks as well you lucky devil

Re: Holiday booked

Elaine - your holiday sounds like my idea of heaven. A bit o' culture and a bit o' beach. We do, of course expect to see lots of photos you realize . . .

I hope you enjoy your well-earned rest with your friend. You've been through a lot this year too so you richly deserve a break
