http://www.wizz-catz.co.uk/introducing.html I hope the link helps. Wizz is lovely and helped me when I was having trouble introducing Bernie into the house. It took 6 months for Eva to finally accept him, fingers crossed it wont be as long for your two xxx |

i did try in the beginning confining her to a dog cage i have when my dog was wee,but she worked out with in 4 days to climb up the bars n get out a hole at the top,i would feel cruel confining her now,as the only room i have free is a junk room,i did for a while in the day time and at bed time, have her in the bath room, but one day she decided she'd had enough n cried to get out she gets on great with the dog |

We dont have a spare room but we do have a large kitchen, so we set that up as Bernies room. We put a cage in and Bernie was able to wonder in and out of it while being confined to the kitchen. It was his safe place, we covered it over with a blanket too. At feeding times, we would feed Bernie inside the cage and Eva at a comfortable distance, gradually moving them closer. If we had a set back we would go back a stage and start again from there. We also tried to create more territory with in the house by creating hiding places and leaving the odd shelf free for a cat bed. |

Hi Niki, welcome to Catsey! I hope your 14 year old cat and your new kitten accept each other soon ......... it usually takes a little time for them to get to know each other and settle down. Looking forward to hearing more about them!. |
