Left-overs MondayAfternoon all! With all those roasts yesterday, there must be something left over! OH was beaten by his stuffed braised heart yesterday and Monty had a treat! There is plenty of the casseroled veggies left so it will be meat balls this evening. A gloomy day here after two rather nice days - spitting with rain and still chilly. We have taken Monty for a walk to Stansted woods this morning which was good, Monty had a good run with ball chasing. No St Mark's flies today, they like to come out in the sunshine and I don't blame them. Shelley for information on these flies see - http://www.nhm.ac.uk/nature-online/s...rci/index.html Came home and before anyone could say "knife" Monty had managed to gobble up what we presume was cat sick in the sitting room. Dogs are disgusting, aren't they? Don't know who was sick either. My spin dryer is on the blink, spins but doesn't do the high speed spin so the clothes are coming out wet - not good with the weather we're having, so repair man is coming out tomorrow afternoon. Have a good day folks.

Enjoy your "Local Celeb" status Shelley, hope the local rag does you and your dolls proud! Angie, I don't mind that the dog clears up the cat sick, saves me a job (but it is pretty revolting actually!) This morning's post brought a tax demand oh dear, I'm afraid I don't understand it, there seems to have been a lack of joined up-edness when I was doing a bit of supply teaching whilst drawing my teacher's pension and my state pension so now they want £1100 from me Not my fault but I can't deny I probably owe it (if their sums are right that is ) As I understand it, the demand will be collected by changing my tax code and collecting extra from me until it's settled. A good reason for me to turn down any more supply work! It's raining here again today, ho-hum, nice over the weekend though. |

Afternoon all not long up. Seems to have been a good day. Angie YUK its a pure dog thing......and YUKKY. Glad you enjoyed your walk though, shame about the spin dryer. Shelley - I am now in the presence of a famous person. Mrs H thats a shame seems like a bit of a minefield working as a supply teacher. Well off to work in a while weird working different days I am covering for holidays. Weather here good though. |

Shelle - I'd love to read the article. Don't think we've got an "I am not worthy" icon to use!!! MrsH - I also have a general loathing of tax forms - have to do the self assessment every year because of my business and was paying more than half the profit in accountant's fees. My OH kindly did it for me last year. Kazz - do you have a wall chart with days/nights you are working? I'd be completely lost without a dry wipe board in the kitchen, and that's only for Monty's appointments and social meetings!!! Pamela - thanks, I do like your word "puggled" - is it a Scottish word? |

It's interesting Pamela, because it makes me think of a potters' word "pug" meaning to mix clay into a useable mass - the machine it is put through to compact the clay being called a pug mill. I imagine that being puggled means feeling pummelled and knocked about or fair done-in! |
