It is funny, MrsH. I was just ranting a bit, and then ....... dead toaster. It was an inexpensive one, so just back to Amazon and order a new one.... |

*hugs* What a pest Eileen... But you do indeed get what you pay for... When I moved here I bought the cheapest of the cheap that way (talking £2-3 or so from ASDA/Walmart). Thus far it's coping, but I've only been here a few years now... Least, as and when it needs replaced, I won't need to replace everything at once, but... |

I hated my toaster! It wasn't too expensive, but not cheap either, would always burn one side of the toast! So when I moved I bought a gas cooker with an eye level grill, perfect toast every time I couldnt go back to using a toaster again! |

I have 2 chrome Russell Hobbs bought from a boot-sale 15 years ago for £1.50 each, one as a spare. Trouble is I haven't had the need for the spare yet so gave it to a friend whose 2 year old cheap toaster broke down recently. My kettle's also RH, used on a daily basis and reeeallly old! Thank goodness for toaster ovens Eileen! We call them grill elements over here..? |

Is this what you call a grill element, Truth? This is what mine looks like; couldn't be without one. Ideal for a single person who likes to cook, no need to heat up a big oven! |
