Sundae Sunday

Hello all, sorry I've been away for the last two days, but things got a bit busy like they do

Yesterday was a bit thrilling, along with 7 friends from Curves I did a 300m zip wire glide from the Newport transporter bridge in aid of the Stroke Association. I am afraid of heights and walking up those narrow metal steps was the most heart thumping thing I've done, but nothing compared to the terror of going over the top just suspended by a bit of rope and caribina. I never thought I'd leave go of the bridge itself hanging on til the bitter end but I just let go and I was away... into thin air... Can't say I enjoyed the ride I closed my eyes and cried out waaaaah all the way,
Legs like jelly at the end but a great sense of achievement and a certificate and t-shirt for my pains.

Spent the evening talking and texting about it, and drinking lots of wine - a bit hungover today,

Re: Sundae Sunday

Sounds like a busy but fun day Posh.

Quiet day in here, after what feels like a busy enough weekend the last few days.

Hope everyone has a good day!

How incredibly brave of you PP! Well done. Need a photo of you with your T-shirt and certificate. That's the sort of thing that would have me quivering jelly-like too. I'm not really scared of heights but letting go and falling, even though you will land safely is just too much to even contemplate. The only worse thing IMO would be a bungee jump. The adrenaline rush afterwards would be great though. Hope you have a calm day today bathed in the glow of your courage - hope you raised a lot of money for the Stroke Association.

Squirrel, hope you have a relaxing day chilling out with Cloud.

I thought it was forecast as a nice sunny day, but overcast, gloomy and not all that warm here. OH has just taken Monty out for a run-free walk and I'm about to do a bit of vacuuming while Mr Bogle is off the premises!

Have a great day everyone.

Re: Sundae Sunday

Just a relaxing day here, nothing much going on. Daughter and her man will be round this afternoon and we'll work together on the Sunday Times crossword as usual.

Hats off to PP! Wow!! I'd never have the nerve for that! What a thrill though!

Got up very late today, still having our morning coffee even though it's noon! No shame in being lazy from time to time , enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Well done PP!
It is sunny here, oh no it's clouded over, oh it's sunny! I'm pottering in the garden and about to go to the allotment so see if I have any spuds.

Re: Sundae Sunday

Hi all, a glorious day here, sunny, 30 C (85 F), warmer by afternoon, a perfect July day. This is what I dream of in January. I knew we had a library in the building but hadn't had a chance to check it out till this morning: nice! Well stocked, I'll make use of it for sure, I love my Kindle, would have gone mad in hospital without it, but there's nothing like a real book. Also, I've found a place outside to pick Leia's grass! That's all my exciting news.....

PP, you are one gutsy woman, well done! I could never have done that. MrsH, you're entitled to sleep in, you're recovering from surgery. CS, hope you have lots of little new potatoes, so yummy! Squirrel, enjoy the peace and quiet; Angie, any more mice?

A pleasant day to all!

Re: Sundae Sunday

Afternoon all.

Not done a lot today but managed to fight and win the ironing battle. My sister even dropped my BIL shirts off for me I love ironing shirts.....the smell of the starch and the fast they alway look crips and smart - weird eh? She thinks I am weird
Anyhow as I said apart from the ironing war not a lot popped to sainsburys and been to the gym and had a swim too.

Roast beef for dinner may go into the garden and a bit of weeding later.

And PP I raise my hat to you very brave but bet you are glad you did it quite amoral booster.

LOL, Kazz, I think I was happier than my Dad when he retired, as it meant I'd never ever have to iron a dress shirt again! I agree with your sis, you are weird!!
