Lester's off to the vet

I have just dropped Lester off to the vet to be neutered, I know it's totally for the best but you can't help feeling a wee twinge leaving them there. He looked so small and vulnerable sitting at the back of the carrier. On a good note, when I was speaking to him he was purring.
I asked about the pain relief he would be receiving and he will be given metacam which is the norm. I did question the use and the vet was unaware of the issues and that fact the USA will not allow it to be used on cats. She offered another drug but it's from the same type, so no point. I can't to pick him up and see that he's ok.

Hope lester is ok, im sure everything will go fine It is definately in his best interest.

Harris was given metacam when he got neutered and was fine and he seems totally fine with it just now for his cystitis.

Re: Lester's off to the vet

He's just back and other than being a little quieter you wouldn't know he'd been to the vet. He's good in the car, he just sits quietly in the carrier. With Tiger you would think he was being tortured lol. Tiger will be glad if Lester is calmer, last night he jumped on Tiger when he was fast asleep!

Re: Lester's off to the vet

Its an amazing op now isnt it, so much less traumatic and quick healing. Hope Lester is doing ok and not too spaced of the anaesthetic. Denis sat in the sink that night (think it was nice and cool)
