Noticed tonight when i was cleaning up Harris's message in his litter tray that there was a white stringy looking thing in his poo. Im thinking he might be need wormed. Can anyone help out with what the stringy things might be? I have noticed it before (about 2weeks ago) but then didnt see it again until tonight.

unless hes eaten anything he shouldnt, it does sound like worms! was it small like a 1cm or if its longer sounds like a tapeworm. drontol tablets cover tapeworms and threadworms, or if he's not a tablet eater there are spot ons that cover the two of them aswell.

Yes, Advcate spot on does all worms (except heart worm) plus fleas, ticks etc. Prescription/from vet only.

we havent actually wormed him. He had been wormed just before we got him from the cats protection. we have had him 5month now. Just had a look at his file, it seems he was meant to be wormed again in september which we didnt know about. Will drop in by the vets tomorrow on my way home from work and find out how to do it.

Advocate treats all major internal worms but not tapeworms. If your cat has outside access and is a hunter you may still need a tapeworm treatment.

he is an indoor cat, i always thought it was only outdoor cats that got worms

nope its just harris and the fish. We couldnt have brought it in on our shoes could we?

I suppose that's possible. If you are popping in the vet's why not ask them. Take a sample of the stringy thingy too but I expect you've got rid of that!
