Friday

Morning everyone,
as usual on a Friday, haveing a quiet moment before setting off for work.
Then it's back here to walk the dogs and then a food shop.
Did the fruit and veg shop yesterday, including a pumpkin for the dogs. I buy quite a few whilst i can, cook and then freeze it.

Re: Friday

Hi Shelley and Pamela - hope your day is going along well.

Weather is foul here, thick grey cloud cover, raining sometimes heavily and sometimes just nuisance drizzle. My gardening man came along this morning and I said that I wondered that he turned up but he said that where he lives (about 20 mins away) it was blue sky but it certainly didn't follow him. He's finished planting up the few remaining tulips for me amongst cutting stuff back. OH took Monty out - Monty met two of his friends, a working Spaniel and a Labrador this morning and got absolutely soaking wet. He's still a bit damp even now.

I've been out for a coffee and scone with a couple of friends and then went into P@H at Chichester to collect some food for Kizzy and Pip and a few treats for Monty ..... can't leave anyone out!

Pottering with family history this afternoon I think. Homemade fish and chips for supper.

Re: Friday

Afternoon all! I'm enjoying a day off work (bit of a rarity!) trying to do some housework, get the washing done etc. Trishka has other ideas, she's not used to me being home all day so has made it her mission to sit on me at every opportunity! (I don't have the heart to wake her, poor little thing is currently curled up on my lap purring in her sleep!)
Angieh - homemade fish and chips sounds great
Shelley - I've seen a recipe somewhere for a pumpkin tart, I'll see if I can track it down!

Re: Friday

Shelley - can you remind me how you prepare the pumpkin for your dogs? I really ought to freeze some down this year just in case.

Re: Friday

Angie, you basicaly just skin and cut the pumpkin into small pieces , then put it into boiling water and simmer untill it's tender, usualy about 10 mins i think. Then i just freeze it in small portions. It certainly comes in handy for out two who have very fickle tums.
Pamela, what are you getting your mum for her birthday.
I think i have made a decision re work, i'm sticking to the 3 mornings but doing two residentials which have been funded for the children by the council. I am reluctant to commit to too many regular hours as my life is so busy, i am also a carer.
Jade, nice to see you on the daily, hope you have had a nice day off.
