Helga this time.
Helga has been doing really well since losing all the weight she was carrying, she has gone from 8kgs to 5.16kgs and is an adorable, happy girl- or was until this weekend. I noticed Friday night her chin was black and noted to keep and eye on it, she was still bright and eating, however on Sunday she was drooling and not quite as keen to eat. When she first came to us it was noted that she needed a dental, but was too overweight for the op, so I assumed that was the problem and took her to the vet today to confirm it really. The vet had a look in her mouth and she has a hole under her tongue and a white type of plaque on the side of her tongue- she is apparently smelly but with my hay allergy I can smell nothing at the moment. She has had a shot of antibiotic and pain relief and is in tomorrow morning for it to be investigated. I am terrified it is something awful, I have a soft spot for Helga and she has been so content and happy here and she's only 10.
I'll let you know how things go but keep your fingers crossed it isn't anything sinister!
