Hi, I'm just finishing work Can't leave the phones til 7.30am so thought I'd pop on to say hi. I've got to get JOhn & the girls sorted as they are off for a weeks holiday tomorrow (I'm staying home as I'll be at work) Loads of other things to get done today too, so no time for Catsey. Right nearly home time, habe a good day. |

Lovely sunny day here, went to the Garden Centre this morning and bought 4 New Guinea Impatiens. The heavy rain yesterday really brought the slugs and snails out in force this morning ! Have a good holiday weekend everyone! |

Afternoon! It's so nice to have internet access again and to be able to sleep without having my blood pressure taken every hour! It's a bright, sunny day here so might even venture outside for a while, otherwise just keeping as still as possible! Have a great weekend all! |

Didn't realize you were having a Bank Holiday Monday: so it's a long weekend for us on both sides of the Pond...it's Memorial Day here. And looks to be nice, sunny and warm (finally!) I've no special plans, may think of having a cookout... The usual Saturday library run, nothing on the afternoon agenda. Hope all have a nice day, and hope to see you tonight at the quiz! |

Quote:
Originally Whitsun was observed on the 7th Sunday after Easter. The recent adoption of a late Spring Bank Holiday on the last Monday in May attempts to deal with the fact that Whitsuntide is a moveable feast dependant on the date of Easter. |

Thanks, that was interesting! I'd heard of Whitsun on the church calendar; how nice to have a permanent long weekend holiday at the unofficial beginning of Summer! |
