Possible heart problem for Monty

Well, this is the last thing we expected or wanted. Back from the vet .... Monty may have a wee heart murmur. The vet has detected something and we have arranged to go back in a week to find out whether whatever the little noise was is still there. Nothing certain just now but I will speak to his breeder just in case.

Obvious implications for insurance.

That must have come as a shock Angie, that's the last thing you would have expected

Hopefully it will be nothing to worry about when you get him checked out again next week. Good idea to mention it to the breeder.

Re: Possible heart problem for Monty

As you do, I've been reading up on heart murmurs in puppies and hope it's just that - puppy murmur that will go away in a couple of weeks as the valve closes. The vet did say he thought it was "minimal". He is the senior vet in the practice too so not a fresher.

Fingers crossed it's going to be ok, I know a few cocker owners who've been told the same by their vets and it just went away all by itself so hope it's the same for Monty!

Our greyhound, poppy has a heart murmur, she is 3 next month. She is in perfect health, never affected her at all, she runs at top speed! I hope Monty is okay, I'm sure he will be as the murmur is slight.
