Yes, Yola, she was set to be PTS at 5pm on Friday, Thankfully her owners agreed to rehome, although initailly they were convinced she wouldn't settle elsewhere. I was fully prepared to discover she had been PTS, so you can imagine my delight to hear she was coming home to us. We don't really know how her toilet habits have been lately because she has been kept in the garage since her cystitis began a couple of weeks ago. Her bottom is very sore and she is sore when being picked up, I guess the weight of herself puts a lot of strain on organs and muscles when lifted. We have bought some antibiotic non-rinse shampoo and she now has antibiotics and cream for her poor backside. This morning while getting dressed her new name popped into my head, and more amazingly Mike likes it too- she is now Helga- apparently it means holy, sacred or succuessful and we hope she is successful in losing some weight. The name Helga also makes me think of a viking matriach, and that suits her too. |

Love the name! Do you get the Hagar the Horrible comic strip there... Hagar's wife is named Helga ... I'll think of that now every time you post about your girl! |
