Monday Daily

Kind of late for it! Hope all are well.

Sunny and warm again, 30 C (85 F), a bit more humid and no breeze to speak of. No errands so did some work in the garden...I've misplaced my hand pruners, which I really need! Picked two tomatoes for lunch: the netted bags are working this year, haven't lost one to the squirrel or birds (famous last words?)

I've ordered a flea trap, as I found another on Leia. I used one years ago when I had an infestation and it worked very well. I'm trying to avoid using medication as she reacted so badly as a kitten. Between tyhe trap and the flea comb, hope it will work .....

Have a good day!

Re: Monday Daily

The decorator started today, Molly and Jason do not like strangers in the house so they took off to find some peace in the garden. Bouncy Boy Morgan on the other hand absolutely loves visitors and was terribly interested in what he was doing
He's worked really well and has taken all the old paper off the hall, stairs, and landing. he left about an hour ago and did in one day what would have taken me and MrH about a week plus there's the added benefit of us not having to balance on ladders over the stairs!

We noticed today that the blackberries are starting to ripen, soon be time to get the jam making kit out!

Blackberry jam sounds lovely mrsH, glad your decorators got a lot done.
Eileen hope you enjoyed your tomatoes, what is a flea trap, have never heard of one.
We met a couple with a Parsons jack russell yesterday and she told me that lots of Dog walkers meet up in a local park in the mornings. Took Malaika today and she had a ball, romping with all the other dogs.

Re: Monday Daily

Evening all again, once again I'm like a cow's tail, all behind!

Opticians appointments for us both today and a visit from friends at lunchtime so late getting online. Also I've got to take Posh down the vets tomorrow, noticed her breathing was very noisy and wheezy this morning, lots of clear mucus from her nose and her eyes are watery. Probably a cold but want to nip anything in the bud. She's been in all day because the weather is bad, not eating much though, sleepy and needing lots of warmth and cuddles.

Ceri had a visual field test and it turns out that his vision is seriously impaired having lost half his vision in both eyes from the stroke. Originally we were told that he'd lost his vision in one half of one eye (his left) but it turns out both eyes are affected. Now I know why he says he feels so helpless out in the open, he is struggling to see and sometimes goes blind when his eyes don't focus together- poor old thing.

Re: Monday Daily

Hi all.

Hope the flea trap works - such a shame she has reaction to frontline.

Glad that Malika had a fun run this morning - helps use up all the excess energy.

MrsH - I remember a few years ago we had someone in to do our hall and kitchen, it was such a luxury - and they did all the cleaning up afterwards!

PP, poor Ceri, it musy have been difficult for him to enjoy his walks with only 50% vision. Hope the glasses help.

Not much doing tonight - have ironing to finish

Re: Monday Daily

Hi, all.
Overcast here and kind of an emotional night last night that went into this morning. Without getting into too much depth, K is a bit mentally unstable right now. I haven't said much about his health because I get overwhelmed and it stressed me to rehash everything but to sum it up I hadn't said anything but several months ago he saw a specialist and let's just say the prognosis is not especially promising. To bring you to current, I think this reality is just settling in with him and now he is quite depressed and emotional. I've called his Mom and Stepdad. We're going to have a little sitdown and talk some things out tomorrow afternoon. I think it's just hard for him to think clearly right now so I've called his family so we can try to join forces to support him and get him feeling a bit better about it all.
Vet appointment today for two of my ferrets, Annie and Monkey. Wellness checks and vaccinations for both and also need to discuss my suspiscion of Adrenal Disease in Monkey as he has recently been showing symptoms and in ferret years he is considered a senior at this point and if my suspiscions are correct, the earlier we begin treatment the more likely he can recover and still have a normal life.
I have been mentally preparing myself for this issue with Monkey but the breakdown with K's mental state has caught me off guard so now I feel a little unsure about the day. Drinking my coffee and hoping the day will unravel in a better light and there isn't anymore "heaviness" and it can just be a normal day.
Have a good one.

Tink, so sorry to hear about K; hope the intervention will go OK; also Monkey; PP, poor Ceri, eyes are so important. Hope Posh just has a light case of the sniffles. MrsH, jam sounds lovely and I'm sure Morgan was very very helpful! Shelley, I'll post a pic of a flea trap; they work.
