Poor Oliver

I got up this morning to see spots of blood on the floor. Had a look at Oliver and he has cut his back paw. I tried cleaning it with salt water, but it was quite painful for him. I dont know if he has a foreign body stuck in it, so will pop him in to the vets tomorrow if hes still limping badly. I expect this is the first of many!!

Re: Poor Oliver

It has stopped, but the wee soul is limping quite badly. I dont want to keep prodding at it cos it does hurt. In saying that, it hasnt stopped him chasing Benny all over the house tho! lol

Re: Poor Oliver

Took his highness to the vet. Turns out it was a cat bite or scratch (Benny maybe?). It was swollen and full of pus. The vet squeezed it to get the pus out, (poor wee thing, must have been sore!). They gave me antibiotics and metacam with a syringe (to help with the swellong). Wondered how I would get him to take tablets, decided to half them and give them a shoogle in the treat box, worked a treat! (lol). Then came time for the syringe. Hubby held him and I got it in his mouth and squeezed. I expected him to shake his mouth to get rid of it, but, no, he came running over and started licking the syringe (tasty!!).

Re: Poor Oliver

Hope he feels better soon Netty.

Oliver licking the syringe reminded me of Beauty with the katalax she used to love licking it straight out of the tube (I know it's not quite the same as licking a syringe but it reminded me)
