We don't have snow yet, but it's perishingly cold! it's impossible to keep the bird baths free of ice, we're topping them up with hot water every hour or so. The snow is predicted to start about 3pm. Proper winters are supposed to be good for the garden aren't they? something to do with killing off some of the pests I think. OH has just had to go out as we're running low on milk and the electrician needs it in his tea (we drink ours black) |

Wow Karen, that was what it was like here just before Christmas; proabably about 8 - 10 inches! Light flurries here but much more is predicted later today and tomorrow. I have just been out the the (now open) outdoor shop and Sebi has some snow boots so at least their feet will be dry, snuggly and warm. Bought myself one of those fluffy headband/earwarmer things to go with my white fluffy boots (I'm going to look SO 80s LOL)!! Need to run into town as I've lost the case for my Blackberry and need a new one . . . also still on a quest for bootie slippers for the boys. Popped briefly to the lottie to drop off my new pear tree but the ground was rock hard (very pretty down there though) so I put it in the shed until it warms up! |

No snow here yet. I've been out to the surgery for a blood test and popped into the farmshop for some more kindling and some bread. Bought some bread flour too just in case. Otherwise we are well stocked up. Pip and Kizzy and dashing about like mad things - Kizzy has been out several times. It's as if they know something is coming weather-wise. OH has gone off to the driving range, he's getting golf withdrawal symptoms. He's had new custom clubs for Christmas and not been able to play for one reason or another. My genealogy software has arrived - excellent service, only ordered yesterday, so I will have indoor things to do to keep me amused if we get snowed in. The power supply news is a little worrying though. Let's hope the country does have enough gas to get through this cold snap. Keep warm, safe and upright if at all possible peeps. MrsH - I saw this the other day when looking for bird food - maybe it would help your birds! |

Just a touch here but there must be more about-I was expecting my eldest nephew to visit and bring mother but he phoned a couple of hours ago to say it was a blizzard somewhere between here and Worcester. Oh well -maybe soon. We have re-arranged for Thursday--I haven`t seen him for 5 years so was looking forward to it |

Update on snow. My daughter has just come home early. Because she comes home on a bus they dont know they can get the back at normal time so they send them home for safety reasons. Dont think she will be going tomorrow either. If the school that supplys my youngest daughters school meal is closed they wont get a cooked dinner. They usual send them home. She only went back today |
