Oh I agree, what a silly expression! A shame what people do to our lovely language. Not a phrase, but what sets my teeth on edge is how, like, some people cannot utter a sentence, like, not using the word "like" !! And I shudder during February every year as it seems no one on TV knows that it is not pronounced Feb-you-ary!! |

I've not heard of that phase Angie! Both of the ones you mention really annoy me too Eileen, especially when poeple continually use the work "like", using "'en that" frequently is also annoying. When OH an I have a cuddle/kiss our daughter often says "go get a room"! I guess she is lucky we still want to do that after nearly 28 years marriage!! |

The one that really gets me is 'would of' instead of 'would have'. I know it's something that's being used more and more when written; even here . . . I have to correct Dominik 20 times a day and he STILL insists on say this |
