And then there were 3...........

Hubby called me out to the back a few minutes ago, and Stripe has brought the little kittens around to the food bowl and shelter in my back garden. I'm so glad to see that they will be out of the rain and wind at least (it is chucking it down outside just now) but so sad to see these tiny little things out in this weather. I'm thinking that they must be feral, 'cause there is no way anyone could have them as pets and do that surely (I know I'm probably being naive). They're far too young to be out, and they are very skittish around us. We did manage to grab them as they came for the food and apart from feeling the fleas, they don't seem to be in too bad condition. Will continue to feed them obviously until I can manage to arrange somewhere for them to go, but where I don't know!

I feel so glad that they come to my door as I'm more than willing to feed them, I just wish there was more I could do for them.

If they are ferals, maybe a farm with nice warm barns, once the are neutered ofcourse..

Something like that would be perfect for them, but how to go about it is the question! I'll try and get some pics of the babies tomorrow and post them.

Alex, you're an angel to look after those poor wee ones! Think the barn sounds like a good solution, but how to trap and neuter them? We have a group here called Alley Cat Allies that does trap, spay and release for ferals; hope there is something similar in your area.

Re: And then there were 3...........

I tried phoninh them a week ago about Splodge, and there was just an automatic message about how they were full up and couldn't take on any more cats, however, I will give them a call tomorrow and try and find out if they would be willing to neuter them at least and I'm quite happy to continue feeding them if that's the case and to provide a shelter outside for them. I just wish I could take the poor wee things in!

Re: And then there were 3...........

Just a suggestion then why not aproach your vets and ask if they know of a small rescue or better stil someone who may want a cat.....thats how I go Oz and Cleo the vets knew Archie had been run over and killed and phones and asked if I would be interested in a kitten - mind you times have changed but they may know.
