Rainy, stormy Tuesday.

Good morning ladies.
I'm a bit earlier today - it's 2.30pm here and it's raining very heavily - has been all night. Also very windy and cold. The conservatory and lounge are now flooding. I'm running out of towels and all buckets are in use. Water is literally pouring in in places and my lounge curtains are ruined. Luckily the lounge carpet was very old and was ruined by Willow, so I needed to change it anyway. I've got new carpet to put down, but wasn't quite ready to do so, as the old carpet reminded me of Willow. I won't have a choice now, as the carpet in one half of the lounge is completely sodden. I have to change the buckets every 10 minutes at the moment. I have an assessor from State Insurance coming tomorrow morning and Jaes Carpet cleaners are also coming to bring big fan heaters in to try and dry the conservatory and lounge carpets out. The last time they did this, the cats were terrified.

I finally got some soft cat litter online this morning but it's not going to arrive for a few days yet. I also booked Snoddy into the cat groomer to be groomed and to have his matts removed on 30th July. Hopefully the weather will be OK and not too cold for him. I'll just keep trying to cut a few off him in the meantime, but he's not the easiest cat to deal with.

All cats are in the lounge looking miserable, as it's freezing and I don't want to put the heat pump on, because I can't shut the doors into the front conservatory due to buckets and towels. It seems silly to try and heat a huge lounge when I can't close the doors to keep the heat in. Mean, aren't I ?

PAMELA, that's shocking news about Loona. I do so hope that she pulls through OK. Gastric Torsion is very dangerous and can be fatal. Thank goodness the kennels were on to it quickly and got her to a vet for treatment.Your poor MIL and poor you. I'm so pleased that when you saw Loona, she had had her surgery and was on her feet. Do please let us know how she is doing when you get a chance. You're making me very envious of your gorgeous weather at the moment. It sounds as if you're both enjoying getting out on the bikes and making the most of it. How is your dad doing now ? I'm glad you got to see him the other day.

SHELLEY,, lucky you having nice weather just like Pamela. I'm getting quite jealous. It will be good weather for car boot sales and for sunbathing. Don't get burnt !!! Gosh, I'd just be happy for the rain to stop. I bet the confirmation service you went to on Sunday was nice. I know what you mean about the audio books lulling you to sleep. They do the same with me, and then I can't remember where I got up to. Still, I find them relaxing to listen to in bed and at least I don't get cold hands from holding a book .I hope the pups ears have improved a lot and they no longer have to have the dreaded ear drops. Two weeks to go until you're away again - I bet you can't wait.

Well ladies ,must go and empty some buckets and change the towels yet again.

Have a lovely Tuesday, and enjoy the sun. !!!

Re: Rainy, stormy Tuesday.

Morning Dinky and Shelley,

Dinky sorry to hear you are having horrible weather, i do hope the assessment can get to the bottom of the leaks and get them fixed for you so no more carpets are ruined.

Glad to hear you got the cat litter even though it will take a few days to arrive. Im sure they will be happy Have you spoken to your cousin again? You will have a lot to catch up on!!

Shelley, not long until you finish up! Are you going to teh caravan during the summer?

I am busy with work just now. Having to fit a full weeks work into 2 days due to going to Bristol on Thursday. Our weather isnt great today, was drizzly when we were out with the dogs but it was actually quite nice that it wasnt too hot

We had good news about Loonah yesterday. She is toileting and passing wind as the vet was hoping and her stomach is going down which is fantastic news as they were concerned that it might not be the case so its starting to look hopeful for her to start recovering. I think going forward she wont be going to the kennels now. We have offered to build up with her being with my 2 and the cats and we will be able to take her. They are away for 3weeks in January so plenty of time to put the work in if they accept our offer. We know Loonah will be fine with us as she knows and is comfortable around us. She was also very happy to see us when we went with Stevens mum to pick her up from the vet She has an appointment today so will see what the update is.

Wee update on Loonah,

She was doing well but this morning Stevens mum noticed pup wasn't waking when she spoke to her. She managed to get her round by shaking her awake as she didnt think Loonah was going to wake up(not in a bad way) She took her straight to the vet instead of waiting for an appointment as Loonahs stomach was distended. She has had more x-rays but not sure yet what they showed. She needs to be referred to a specialist to try find out what's happening. Not a healthy puppy just now
