We have more of the black version than the normal grey ones. This one was eating an acorn, but it could have been one of the crocus I put in this Autumn or Chris's daffodils .....

I just wanted to share my (literal!) bete noir with you! We are infested with them! Notice the beady little eyes and the calculating expression in the second pic!

Thanks! I know lots of you like them, and I will admit they are cute, but I get the impression they're not as terribly destructive in the UK as they are here...nothing is safe from the voracious little monsters! I am still regretting the lovely tomatoes last Summer that I did not get to enjoy....
