Thanks all for your nice comments. Of course I dont mind you asking Elaine. I didnt like the size of the enclosures, far too small and no where near enough cover/shelter for the animals to have some time away from prying eyes. There were 6 Wolves on their own, in a VERY small square enclosure with no grass, just a sandy substance, all these Wolves were pacing and behaving abnormally. There were 2 white Tigers that were in a very similar enclosure too, the one you see in one of my pics had worn a path, backwards and forwards, never putting a paw out of place, you can see the path in the photo, the rest of that area was grassed. Both these groups seemed distressed and were segregated for some reason, not sure why. They also had a Leopard, in a glass fronted area, again no cover, just a platform and it was right next to the funfair!! This place boasts "conservation" and repopulating endangered species, why then are they breeding Deer, Camels, Elephants, Zebra, WHITE Tigers and WHITE lions? very hypocritical and stinks of money grabbing. you may think I am hypocritical too, I am!!!! I havent visited Zoos for years, I dont like their false ploys about repopulation and breeding, however in recent months I have been to 3 Zoos! I havent paid to go in one mind, all free tickets and have been an eye opener as to supposed "improvements" into Zoos policies on animal keeping and natural environments. I will be writing to the Safari Park, to ask about some of their policies. Above all the animals are still beautiful, lovely to photograph, but I suppose I am correct in saying they were there for MY enjoyment, not for theirs something that can maybe be changed in the future. Dawn. Dawn. |
