Allotment pics 28 04 06

Some pics from today. It's still very early in the veg season but things are coming on, especially in the polytunnel.

here's my 'yellow' hanging basket. Don't know what plants, do know they cost about £1.80 total

Veg in the tunnel - beet, lettuce, coriander, spring onion

potatoes in the tub, couple of cabbage, thousands of self-seeded toms (to be hoed out when I feel like it!)

Strawberries soon!

This isn't mine but it's a great idea for next year

Simple basket - coming along nicely

Tumbling cherry tomato in this basket - only tiny yet - but growing!

Patio tub with toms & flowers for M&D

and outside

gooseberry (no little people growing underneath, but loads of flowers and hopefully berries later

globe artichoke (not that fond of them to eat, but a fantastic structural plant!)

Sorry there's hundreds of pics!

excellent pictures DM, strawberries look fantastic, mine are just starting to flower

I have got some running beans and sunflowers in my coldframe, do you think it would be safe to plant them out yet??

I have the same and I'm not putting mine out yet Emma, even in balmy Dorset.
One unexpected cold night and - kaput.
However, as your garden is at the house, you could maybe risk it but be ready to pop fleece over them if a frost is forecast?
Unless they're knocking on the roof of your frame and really can't stay there any longer, I'd coddle them for a bit longer..........

The running beans are lol

I will keep them in there or put them in my shed for a few more weeks.

I have planted out some of my cabages but I have put half a plastic bottle over them only planted out 4 plants and I will some more seeds into pots
