Re: Monday

Morning Shelley, I too hope Angie's ok I'm sure there's a simple explanation for her absence.

We got woken up early today (well, 7.00 is early for retired folk ) the air show at Farnborough finished yesterday and all the aircraft which had been on display were leaving for their home bases. Most of them noisy jets, military aircraft, fighter planes etc and we live under the flight path so it was a bit of a racket! We love it really, it only happens every other year.

The cats have settled back in after their week at the cattery, Molly even came into the living room and spread herself over the back of an armchair while Morgan was in the room her boldness was such a surprise, mind you she did make sure that the dog was fast asleep

2nd school holiday week . . . our holiday to Italy has fallen through . . . I'm not only extremely peed off, but also trying to keep 2 energetic boys occupied whilst the rain pours steadily outside. Running out of ideas here!

Hope Angie's back to say hi v soon . . .

Re: Monday

Gosh it's good to be back folks! Sorry if you've been concerned that I've been missing. We got struck by lightning last Wednesday ........... well, the phone lines did, fried my computer, the Wifi, the Sky box; most of our little village got hit some worse than others. We had no phones apart from our mobiles for a while.

Just got our computer back - motherboard had been fried so it was a major rebuild and we went for a bit of an upgrade, as otherwise the strict replacement would have had to have been shipped from USA and would have taken far too long.

Anyway, I'm back ............ I have missed you all and felt bereft without Catsey. Realised that the only way I could have contacted anyone was by mail and of course all my addresses were ........... you've guessed it, on the computer!

Got a Windows 7 now and still trying to find my way around..... it'll take a while before I feel "at home".

Wow! so pleased that you're ok, not poorly I mean. What an awful thing to happen, just makes you realise how dependent we're all getting on technology! I still keep a paper address/telephone book just in case.

Re: Monday

Phew, glad to see you back Angie, i was a little concerned as you had said you didn't feel well last wednesday.
Sorry to hear about the lightening and all the damage.
Yola, sorry to hear your holiday has fallen through.
How about doing a treasure hunt around the house for the boys , or get them some clay to model with.
MrsH, glad that the cats have settled again.
Karen , yes we are going to the caravan.
Busy day for me, drove to a friends to give her her birthday present for tomorrow, then on to see my eldest son and girlfriend. Got some telephone calls made and banking and cleaned the bathroom. I have a very busy week ahead.
