Failing kidneys / digestion problems

Im not sure where to start, little Katie has renal disease (failing kidneys). About a momth ago she was on antibiotics for cystitis. This recurred and last Monday we took urine sample to vets. He said there was nothing wrong other than it was very dilute. She was drinking a lot. He raised suspicion of diabetes. We had to monitor her water intake over the week, add salt to diet & bring her back today. From Tues to Sat she only ate twice and only a little amount, she was drinking so much she was bringing it back up again. By Saturday we had to contact the vets and they had us on emergency alert/contact over the weekend. Got another urine sample this morning for the vets and my suspicions proved correct - blood in her urine.

He now thinks there are two different issues, one her failing kidneys and two her stomach. She was very tender on palpating of her tum this morning. She got a long term fast acting injection for the cystitis, anti. nausea jab and we have anti nausea pills for Tue and Wed. We have to go back to the vets on Thurs. fasting. If the sickness does nt settle he wants to take her in and do a gastric scope to check for tumours in the gut area. Unfortunately tumours in Boxers occur all too frequently . So feeling bit down at the moment. Katie is such a sweetheart. A vet once said to me if you went out looking for the perfect dog, you couldn't get better than Katie. I think little Misty (kitten) knows how unwell Katie is, they do say some cats can seek out people who are unwell and go to them to give comfort and I believe that is what she has been doing with Katie. She did eat a little tonight so hopefully the anti nauseau jab is helping her, she is so thin and has been so dejected and lethargic this past week

Please keep little Katie in your thoughts and prayers

I am sorry to hear this I hope that Katie continues to eat a little when she feels like it.

And yes I think cats and dogs do seek out pack members who are poorly.
